Butternut Mountain Farm with Chef Kae

Butternut Farm Maple Products

I LOVE Vermont maple syrup and especially maple soda! I cannot count how many times I have driven past the Butternut Mountain Farm store in Johnson, VT and wondered what was inside. On this one beautiful Vermont day, I finally got a chance to find out!

The store is a gift shop for all things Vermont maple with books, crafts and of course maple syrup. I always like to sample the Vermont made products such as jellies, jams and mustard and I wasn’t disappointed. There were several samples available and I just had to try. This cute little store also sells wooden bowls that are made in Vermont from the trees that grow here. There are cheese boards made from Vermont slate and granite too. You will not find quality this good anywhere in the world.

Of course, my favorite is always maple syrup which I use for cooking and enjoy on ice cream and pancakes. Did you know that there are several grades of maple syrup? Each grade is a bit different in taste and texture. Some are best suited for cooking while others such as the “fancy” grade are golden in color and have a delicate taste, which is best for sipping or on pancakes. Best of all, the prices at Butternut Mountain Farm are the lowest I have ever seen in Vermont. They even sell equipment to people who wish to make their own maple syrup!

If you would like to order some maple products, please contact me. If the demand is strong enough, I may add an online shopping cart to my website where you can select what you’d like and have it shipped to your home. I can ship to Thailand but the costs would obviously be higher. It’s worth it though because you cannot get quality maple products like this anywhere in Thailand!
